India is burning and it needs a fix

Since my childhood, I have heard our late ex president Dr Abdul Kalam’s words “India will become a superpower by 2020”. We are a developing country for more than 7 decades since independence. Are we moving towards becoming a developed country? Are we even have that plan in our roadmap?  Stop the blame game on anyone. But where are we now? Are we even closer to achieving any of this? A BIG NO in my opinion.

India has a huge opportunity to move faster than countries like China, US or Japan when you compare the average age group of an Indian which is less than 30. We are losing every opportunity. Until unless we work on war foot, we won’t achieve it even in the next decade. I know things are progressing but definitely not a few can run this whole country machine and mission. It should be a cumulative effort from every one of us. There are a few things, I can see visibly on a daily basis where we miserably failing but no one will accept or take action. People elected BJP for strong leadership and economic growth but looks like they have their own agenda of making India a Hindu Rashtra which is not going to happen anytime.

Fix education: – make all the MLA and MPs and all the level one Govt servants should send their kids & grand kids to Govt schools till 10th standard. Important to notice: Grand kids. All the politicians are generally 50 and above. The same should be applicable to kids of IAS and IPS officers.

Fix Individual citizens: Politicians should lead from the front on how an individual need to be by following laws starting from following traffic signs, not to drive on platforms, Not to bribe Govt officials, not to urinate on roadsides, not to spit on public places. Everyone of us polluting the environment in one or the other way. We have online warriors who just comments on every issue for no use. Need a constructive mechanism rather than advising others on saving water only on holi or saving air pollution on Diwali day. Current Indian Govt knows how to do marketing and how to make it into votes. All the poor Indians fall as a victim into that.

Fix Bjp and Congress: one party still need a leader and the other one should stop horse trading of elected MLAs. We are slow poisoning the democracy in daylight. Both the parties are corrupt. BJP does horse trading better in multiple state assembly elections now. It became a new normal. Congress guys just loots. BJP loots in the name of religion and nationalism. The later is dangerous. We are slowly inching towards the foot path of China. I always like the proactive marketing team from BJP lead by PM aka Prime Marketeer. Congress always lose to them. Comparing these two, BJP looks like a bigger evil as of now. They are making people dumb with filthy ideas even the educated ones falls for it. Also India is slowly inching towards becoming another China. We are losing freedom and voices are being suppressed.

Fix economy and employment: Accept jobless growth is happening and invent new ways to provide employment and what will work for India.  I am not an expert. Leaving it to the “actual” experts.

Fix Politicians: Bring them accountable like corporate companies. Keep them away from contesting if they don’t deliver. We need to figure out a way to document their day to day activities and what they have completed. We should get rid of politicians who just does marketing rather than actions. Every politician does business rather than service. How can we stop them from jumping between parties? I know this will look a joke and not going to happen. They only need to pass a law.

Fix political parties: Make it public that who is funding these political parties. That is one of the biggest scam where corporates are benefitting.

Fix black money: None of the biggest defaulters who escaped from India ever came back. If RBI says, they have received all the currency back after demonetisation, that will be the great joke. I am not here to prove it to them. If anyone wants to know, how does black money circulates, keep a CCTV cam inside all the land sub-register offices across the country. Major black money floats over there from people on all the levels. Don’t argue with me to prove it. Go “find” yourself. Multiple looters went out of the country with the help of the Government

Fix infrastructure: Bring all the Government project contractors accountable. One of the major loop hole where politicians and their family members are benefiting. Can I go to a Govt portal where I can see complete detail on who built the bridge next to my area and what was the projected and actual cost and time involved? My office is in an area called Koramangala in Bengaluru which is a hub for all the startups in India. They are working on fixing the drainage system in front of the office for the past 4+ months literally. It is still not yet over. On everyday people are struggling. We haven’t elected these jokers to struggle on a daily basis when they keep looting.

Fix startups: People in metro and 2 tier cities are enjoying all the benefits and comfortness provided by all the highly funded startup’s. Create an environment for them to go public for long term benefits to reach every Indian.

Fix Agriculture, industries and services: Figure out the proportion between the three sectors that will contribute better for Indian economy and the people

Fix productivity: figure out what kills or slows down the productivity and destroy it on the root. Social media — May be, May be not. Because it helps people to win elections, an easier way to fool people.

Fix transport: Remember electric & battery operated vehicles are the future. We are making moves on this. Do we have the infrastructure to support it?

Fix innovation: One of the key thing where we can leap forward infront of other countries. Use the opportunity window wisely.

Fix fake contents: image, text, audio and video are going to be the huge spectrum of fake content distribution which even wins election at this point. It is very easy to pollute any mind with a sequence of fake contents and opinionated content.

Did you even come to this portion of the article? I am happy about your confidence. Now go back to your work and sorry for wasting 3 minutes of your valuable time for reading all the things which is not going to happen.

Cheers India!

India and its culture

Some one calls it as Bharat but known as India to everyone. But even our national anthem says my country name as Bharat and not as India. Either it is Bharat or India, there is no difference between them. And we are in a so called democratic country. Yes, freedom in expressing what we feel. But there should be a star symbol over the word “democratic” to mention “conditions apply”. It will act differently for money and power.

The only active group in this country is Media and nobody else. I just did browse through top online medias of each state. Everywhere it contains different news stories. But when it comes to national medias, all of them have single news in their head lines about a rape incident happened in the capital. There are similar incidents happening everywhere and on everyday more brutal than this. But this incident gave a spark to the people to think about the safety of women like how Anna hazare started his protest. Thanks to that victim girl and let her soul RIP. Now Government setup a panel to ensure safety of women through a new law. Lets wait for atleast one law without loop holes for the accused to escape.

We are passing through a period of westernisation. There is “nothing” defines the culture of a country. It will keep on changing depending on the situation. We evolved through a lot of cultural change. In my childhood, I will rarely hear about love marriages around me. But just look at the people around you now. There was no cell phone and internet in my childhood. But look at everywhere now. There was so many restrictions some 100 years back for a fellow to talk with their opposite gender. But look at the space now. That is what called as culture.

Many politicians started accusing the injection of western culture as the main reason behind these rape incidents and they are expressing their age old ideas and thoughts on it. They should look at themselves along with their family in a mirror before saying anything. Their views might work if we have strict law and order policy. That is also not possible in this country. Many people want the rape incident accused to be hanged or strict punishments like in Arab countries. The people who said this must look at the rules imposed on women in those countries.

Do you think the rape incident is the biggest issue in this country? Definitely not. It is just the views of the people behind those media. Those medias are just injecting their views into people’s mind. There are much bigger threats. Last week a politician from a state publicly made an open hate statement against a community. The sad part is all the people around him claps for that speech. They don’t know they are being fooled and they are victimized for his political advantage. When there is something goes bad, all the innocent aam aadmis will fall as victims for these idiots. And these politicians will just penetrate and come out through another loop hole in our so called law. What about the people stashing black money abroad? Where is the media about these news? Whatever the news, it will be in headlines till they get a next bigger news than this. Then all the people will start talking about the new incident in all the social media. Then these media fellows will automatically change their gaze on the new news. This is also a recent popular culture here. NONE of the media is neutral in India.

Regarding the rape incident, apart from giving strict punishments there should be a change in people’s mind set about women. That should come by a social change by injecting a view on people’s mind. We don’t need to teach everyone about how they should be. Let us just be an example for others and the people around us will automatically change. The change won’t come from outside and it should start with in ourself.

INDIA and INDIAN educational system

Actually I thought of writing a post on this, a long time back. It happened when my sister’s daughter, a class VI kid asked me to write a HTML form with java script validation in it. That was the assignment given to her as part of the Computer science subject in her school. I tried to teach her but she could not understand. But she knows very well that what is google.com and wikipedia.org. These are the websites used to give some obvious results that she expects for her school homeworks and assignments. The other assignments given to her were a website for her family and a power point presentation on a mathematical subject. I helped her in creating all these things.

Don’t be very excited like we are living in an advanced country. The funny part of this is everytime they do something like this, they should copy it in a 700 MB CD where obviously almost 699 MB will be wasted. The reason is the teacher doesn’t know any of these things. They could have told her to bring it in a usb drive or to send through email. She told me that the teacher never opened her submission at any time. This is just a procedure and submission is just a formality. I need to accept the fact that, in our college third year we had a Internet programming lab. In that we did some simple web designs using HTML and obviously we did javascript form validation as one of the assignment. 🙂

It is good to know that our college syllabus is changed after we came out. The point I am coming towards is the educational system in India. We are a developing country where we see a great growth in all part of the country. I accept that it is very difficult to implement even a very little change to reach more than a billion people. The Government is doing a good job in bringing out the best.

I am from the southern part of India, where the state government is distributing free laptops to all the school children as part of their electoral pledge. It is good move but howmany children will utilize it? Still in many schools there isn’t better infra structures. Obviously they couldn’t bring it to schools for studies because the classrooms will not be having enough power ports to charge all their laptops. Those computers are preloaded with both Windows and a Linux flavor. It is really nice to hear. But do they have teacher in every school to teach what is Linux and how to use it? I don’t have answer for this. If they don’t know how to use it, definitely they will go for the next option to use it for browsing unnecessary internet contents and watching pirated movies. Who will care about these consequences? Because the government fulfilled their pledges. Their duty is over. Think in this way, instead of giving 50 laptops to an average class room strength, they could have use it to setup a world class, class room infrastructure with an advanced computer lab with just 10-20 systems. And the central government is planning to giveaway Android tablets to all the school students in the country. Whatever I said for laptops, applies here too.

What is the use of an Android tablet or Linux Laptop, if they don’t know what is Linux and how to write an application for the device they have? [P.S: These tablets and laptops will be given to schools and colleges managed by government and affiliated to government only]

When it comes to colleges we have to submit thesis as part of the completion. Considering other colleges in our area, I am happy that we have a good infrastructure in our college for utilizing. As per my college procedures, we have to select a topic by having a IEEE paper as a reference paper. Anyway it is good in a way otherwise many will end up in doing age-old library management project. But there should be standards in evaluating the practical implication of each project. Instead it can be made compulsory to submit a paper in International journal as part of completion. I am not seeing any Indian based software industry leading the world market in any technology. It is really not good to say when we have so much energetic minds but still lagging in leading the western world. Obviously India has great potential for greater minds that is proven since all the best in technology industries have setup their R&D centers in India.

India is the wealthiest country with poor people!
