Orissa trip

Orissa trip

Last Thursday(9th Sep), myself and Balaguru went on a trip to Orissa. It was really a nice experience to roam around there. Ashwath is working there and we were
roaming together for the three days fully on his bike.

Bhubaneswar is 1100 KM away from Hyderabad. We started at Thursday afternoon and reached there at Friday afternoon. Nearer to the station I have seen many places named Kalinga. Later only I came to know that, It was the place where Kalinga war held between Kalinga state and Mauryan Emperor Ashoka. And also there is a monument which is built after the end of the war by him. He left war and invading into others area and followed Buddhism after that. There are more buddhist sites around Bhubaneswar and cuttack named Udayagiri, Ratnagiri and more.We went to his home. The rents are cheaper when compared to other cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai.

After some time, we were roaming around the road side of Bhubaneswar. The roads are nice there inside the city. Because it was a planned city like Chandigarh. It is made as capital next to Cuttack in 1948. I have noticed one thing in roads. There is no need to write number in the front plate on any two wheeler. Instead they can write their own name. We went to some malls there. We can’t find even a single girl wearing any indian dresses. It is developed very much in this Laughing. Then we went to a Ram mandir there. It was good.

The next day we started at 3:30 AM to Paradeep port to see Dolphins in early morning. He arranged for one more bike with one of our college mate Vinoth from mechanical department. While starting Police stopped us and we were talking with them for sometime. And they came down to asking money for tea expense Cool. They are similar everywhere in this. After 4 hours of travel for 160 KMs through highway we reached Paradeep port. The sea shore was really nice. I will post all my photos in Picasa. You can see it there. We four were the people at that beach. Unfortunately we could not able to see any dolphins there Cry. Due to heavy rain the water at shore became like mud color. Any way we spent around three hours there and returned back.

While returning we took another route which is worst I have ever seen. We took some photos on the way of returning while it was returning. At some places, it looks similar to Kerala. Then in the evening we went to some more malls there. We ate a dish called Googni in a road side shop. It was nice and similar to the masala of puri.

On the next day, we have started at 4:00 AM and travelled around 80 KM to reach Konark Sun temple at first. It was built for Arka(Sun God) by King Narasimhadeva-I in 13 th century. It was really a wonderful place to say. I loved it very much than others because of its architecture. It looks like a chariot with twelve pairs of exquisitely designed wheels being pulled by seven spirited horses. There is a huge mystery around this temple when I searched about this temple in net. Because the entire temple was destroyed. Around 50% of its architecture is collapsed by some kings belong to kalapahad.

Due to its gigantic structure they were unable to bring down its whole structure. Still the outer body of the chariot remains. The temple is very much popular for its erotic sculptures around the chariot. I have got many many doubts upon seeing those sculptures. Becuase Indians following the culture of Monogamy marriage. But most of the sculptures there symbolizes polygyny and polyandry type of relationships. Even the wheels of the chariot filled with so many sculptures. But most of the structures around the main temple are brought down. Even the interior of the main building also closed by Government. There must be some reason why the temple was closed. But I didn’t get any reference for that.

Even the statue of God also destroyed. But they didn’t do patch work for God eventhough they did for other places. There must be some secret behind it. I am not sure about it. After roaming around there for sometime we had our breakfast there and started to Puri which is 35 KM away from there. In Puri there is Jagananath temple(Lord Krishna). We roamed around there for sometime and spent sometime in Puri beach and started moving back for Train. While returning, his bike tyre got punctured. After giving it for repair in a near by village workshop, we sat on a tea shop near by there. There was a fellow who might be a speaker in local politics. He was talking about politics in all the states. He knows about Jayalalitha well, than Present CM. He knows her as a brave lady and he was keep on talking many things and was asking questions. After buying some sweets we came to railway station. And reached here on next day morning. Smile

Planning of next trip soon!!! Tongue out

Lonely trip to Mantralayam

Lonely trip to Mantralayam

Two weeks back I had a very nice experience of visiting Mantralayam where Raghavendra temple is located. It was really a nice experience. But I didn’t expect it would be a lonely trip. I loved it.

Before going there my colleagues advised me to have a telugu guy to accompany me since it is in inner part of AndhraPradesh. It is in Kurnool district, very nearer to Karnataka border. Because those people don’t know Hindi or English, they knows only Telugu. I went to MGBS bus stand nearer to Koti at 10 PM on saturday(3/7/10) night. I missed to catch the last bus. Anyway I had planned to go. So I asked the nearest place to there. They told me to go to Adoni, a place nearer to mantralayam. So I planned to go to Adoni, I got into the bus. I asked the driver about the distance to Mantralayam from Adoni. But he scolded me something because of I asked in English. He thought that I know Telugu eventhough I was asking in English. I told I don’t know Telugu. Then I explained him with hands. Then he told it is 25 KM away.

At around 4 o’Clock I reached Adoni. There was only two or three people in the whole bus stand. Then a bus came around 30 minutes past 4. Then aorund 45 minutes past 5, I reached mantralayam. There I found one very little room for keep the things and refreshing. That lodge keeper told super star visited there once Laughing. Then I went to the temple around 8:30 after break fast. Then I am queued up there inside temple for around one hour. There is the tomb of Swami Raghavendra where he buried alive and one Hanuman statue opposite to that. After prayers I returned back to room around 10. There is no direct bus from mantralayam to Hyderabad. Either I need to go to Adoni again or Raichur, where I can get buses frequently. So, I chose Raichur this time. It is 45 KMs away from there. I reached there in an hour. I have taken photos of Hyderabad letters in telugu to identify buses. After reaching there, I found a fort there and roamed aorund there for sometime. And I have asked for Hyderabad buses. They showed me the bus. But the destination board in the bus was something else in all the buses they showed. I thought they are telling wrongly or I am wrong. After that only I identified that, Raichur is in Karnataka. They have written the
name board in Kannada. Any way both Telugu and Kannada seems to be the same for me. Cool. From there one straight route to Hyderabad. After roaming some time around Koti, i reached home in evening. It was really a nice experience to roam alone Tongue out.

Valley beach trip

Valley beach trip

Last saturday, we went to valley beach near Trivandrum, 10 KM away from our campus. We were 12 people including Me, Kavin and other batch mates. We went there by auto. Auto fare is really cheap in this city. Nobody asks for extra money. In Madurai we cant get an auto for 15 rupees.

When we started for the trip, it was raining. Anyway we didn’t want to return back. We were completely wet when we reached the sea shore. It was really awesome. There was a backwater area near the sea shore. We went for a cool boat ride when it was raining. I will upload all the pictures ASAP. Then we played in the sea shore for sometime. Then we went to a floating restaurant in the sea shore near by. We were there for almost two hours for aloo bonda and hot tea. Kavin’s mobile drunk some water :). It took two days to get rid of the fever.

Then mala Water falls trip

Then mala Water falls trip

Last friday we went to Thenmala, a tourist place near TN-Kerala border near Shenkottah.
Me, Kavin with other 15 mates from TVM. We got a cab for this trip. The trip was really
nice. We started at 6:30 Am on Saturday.

We went to a dam at first named Parappa dam. It is almost filled with more than 110 feet
height of water. That place was really very cool with nice atmosphere and surroundings.
We made a round trip through the dam’s reservoir. Then there was a adventures zone
nearby some 500 yards ahead from the dam.

We got tickets for it from the dam’s ticket counter. There is a Elevated walker through
the forest trees. It was raining at the time when we went there. So we could not able to
experience mountain climbing(trekking), we really missed it. There was a small pond inside
there. Since it was raining we could not able to boat also. But we had a river crossing ride.
They will tie up a belt on our hip  with a rope. we have to cross the pond with the rope
tied around us. It was a different experience. Most of the fellows got afraid to
come for this :). Then one more ride from the mountain to the land by crossing the pond.
It is also similar to the river crossing. But it was somewhat thrilling than the previous one.

After that we went to Paalaruvi which is almost in TN border, some 10 KM away from
Shenkottah. I really like that water falls more than other places. The water was heavily
pouring since it was heaviy raining at that time we went. We spent almost two hours
there. This is my first time to that water falls. I loved that place very much
it was a place with pure nature.

From the beginning itself some of the friends had a plan for drinking toddy. But till the end
of the trip they didn’t able to get it :). I will update all the photos ASAP. Next week
we have planned for a trip to Azhapuzha. Let us see.

Kutladampatti Trip

Kutladampatti Trip

Last sunday, me,aswin, mahesh, kannan, naagu, mani went for a bike trip to Kutladampatti nearer to Alankanallur and Paalamedu. It is 35 kms away from my home. We started from home at 10 0′ clock. Reached there in half an hour travel from mahesh’s home. We didn’t go the falls . Instead we tried some adventures action. We climbed on the steep hills upto some 1.5 kms. And reached the source of water. It was awesome. The water was very pure and chill. Nobody was there except six of us. We played there for a long time and returned again in the afternoon. I didn’t believe such a nice place is there in Madurai too. It is a nice place or week end trips or as a picnic. It will be more cool when there is more water.
